Replace Rubber Parts

Afimilk MPC maintenance procedures include periodic replacement of all rubber and silicon parts. The frequency of rubber part replacement depends on the intensity of use (hours of daily milking).

Note: Afimilk recommends replacing rubber parts at least once a year, or twice yearly in parlors milking around the clock.

The following rubber parts of the milk meter body should be replaced annually:

Upper and lower cover gaskets

Valve gasket

Solenoid diaphragm

To replace the rubber parts

  1. Open the Top retaining and remove the top cover from the body.

  2. Remove the top gasket and replace it with a new gasket.

  3. Replace the top cover and retain with the clasp

  4. Open the lower bottom clasp and pull down the bottom cover with the valve connected.

  5. Pull the valve out its socket in the diaphragm.

  6. Pull off the Valve Gasket, and replace it with a new gasket (Pull the gasket pins into the holes in the valve until the gasket is tight around the valve's lower ring).

  7. Replace the lower cover gasket.

  8. Turn to loosen the solenoid, then pull it from its socket in the bottom cover.

  9. Dip the new Solenoid Diaphragm in water with hand soap, and use it to replace the old diaphragm.

  10. Tighten the solenoid back in place.

  11. Fit the valve and new gasket into the diaphragm socket.

  12. Place the lower cover back in place, threading the valve between the three supporting arms inside the milk meter body and secure it with the clasp.

  13. Ensure that the valve moves loosely inside the milk meter body.

Note: Put the milk meter into cleaning mode after assembling its parts and inspect the valve movement. Ensure that the valve moves up and down freely to verify proper assembly!
